This is the story of Mod (Thicharat Kantarangsiyanon), the founder of Ba Bin Na.Mol, a homemade Thai coconut dessert brand. She used to work a full-time job for 13 years — until one day, she made a bold decision: to quit and start her own dessert business.

“What if I just give it a try?”

That one question changed everything.


From Office Job to Dessert Oven

Mod’s childhood was filled with the scent of fresh Thai desserts, helping her grandma and aunt in the kitchen. But her adult life took a different path — working in HR and retail management, chasing stability to support her family.

One day, her partner asked, “Why not try making desserts?”

She hesitated, but then remembered her childhood. And with a little nudge from her heart, she thought: “Maybe it’s time to be a little ba bin — a little bold.”


Handmade with Love (and Lots of Trials)

Ba bin was trending at the time, so Mod signed up for an online course to learn how to make it. But she wasn’t satisfied — the taste was too sweet for her healthy lifestyle. So she packed up her tools, went home to Chaiyaphum, and worked with her mom to improve the recipe.

For two full days and nights, she tested and failed — over and over again. She even had to throw away kilos of ruined batter. But she never gave up. Finally, she found the one: a ba bin that’s crispy outside, soft inside, and just the right sweetness.

And that was the beginning of Ba Bin Na.Mol, named after her nickname from her partner, meaning “missing someone” — a dessert made to warm hearts.

Mod treats every piece of ba bin as if it’s made for her own family. That’s why she carefully selects every ingredient:

From One Pan to Three Branches

Today, Ba Bin Na.Mol has three branches:

📍 The Mall Bang Khae

📍 Tharnphet Market, Nonthaburi

At one point, Mod expanded to seven shops — but later chose to keep just three, so she could maintain quality with her own hands.

“I’m proud I didn’t give up. I’m grateful to my family and customers for helping me do what I love.”
